Hi Harmony alumni and friends! We are excited to announce some updates related to Captain Janeway’s Birthday Party & Elm Heights/Harmony Hall of Honor Ceremony taking place at Harmony this Saturday at 1:00 PM (see original email announcement, below).

- For those of you unable to attend in person, the event WILL be livestreamed on Harmony's YouTube page.

- To kick off the event, at 1:00 a String Quartet from the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will share some tunes from Star Trek! Also the BSO is performing this Sunday at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater with a special Space Jams music performance, framed around The Planets by Gustav Holst. - The Janeway Collective will have a cutout of Capt. Janeway so people can take pictures of themselves as the Captain.

- Thursday through Sunday, The Irish Lion will be serving Star Trek themed drinks, both non-alcoholic and alcohol, including one named after one of our new Hall of Honor inductees, Jeri Taylor.

This event is not only about Star Trek, but is also honoring former residents of our Elm Heights neighborhood - Carl Cook and the Jeri Taylor family, including Barbara McCrea/Taylor.

We hope you can make it this Saturday, in person or online!

Harmony will be hosting an in-person, outdoor ceremony this Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM to celebrate the past, present, and future of the nearly 100 year old building which first housed Elm Heights School and which Harmony has owned since 1985. We feel it is important to honor the former Elm Heights students and families who, for the last 37 years, have supported Harmony's programs and efforts to maintain the historic Elm Heights building and the school's legacy.

Captain Kathryn Janeway, an alum of Harmony in its future form, will return to Harmony on her birthday weekend to deliver a message of inspiration, through a Harmony student, to the Bloomington community. Join us for this special time bending event!

We will be dedicating a classroom to the Taylor/Suer family, which includes Jeri Taylor, the creator of Captain Janeway and writer for the Star Trek: Voyager series, and dedicating our elevator to Cleo J. Cook, Carl Cook's grandmother.

Congrats to the Harmony/Elm Heights 2022 Hall of Honor Inductees:

• Carl Cook - attended Elm Heights 1968-74
• Taylor/Suer Family: Star Trek writer Jeri Taylor; Jay Taylor, Barbara McCrea Taylor, Amy, Lynn, Rob, and Steve Suer - attended Elm Heights 1949-64
• Star Trek's Captain Kathryn Janeway - will attend Meadows at Harmony 2348-2354
