- The building must be left in good order after the event.

- There will be a fee charged for all community events, including events sponsored by Harmony staff that are not Harmony School events.
- The Rental Fee must be paid at least 24 hours before the start of your event.
- There will be a fee charged for all community events, including events sponsored by Harmony staff that are not Harmony School events.
- Harmony School reserves the right to cancel regularly scheduled events with 1 months notice for any special Harmony School events.
Supervision and Building Use
All activities must have a designated person in charge who:
- Is ultimately responsible for the building and the people attending the event before, during, and after the event.
- This person must be over the age of 21. If they are not a Harmony staff person, they must be trained in all building protocols.
- Must either already have a set of keys or get them from a designated office person when they get trained on building use. All keys must be signed out.
- Last person to leave the building including Harmony staff or community persons should check all doors to make sure they are locked, turn all lights off, and make sure no one is left in the building.
The only people who have access to the Harmony building during evening and weekend hours are:
- Harmony staff personnel who have 24/7 access to the building
- People who are participating in scheduled events.
- It is up to the person in charge of the events to keep track of who has entered the building during their event. They have the support of Harmony Management to question anyone’s presence in the building. This person may ask people to leave if they are not in a scheduled event and if they are not a staff person.
Gym
- No food or drink is allowed in the gym.
- If refreshments are served for events in the gym, they must be served in the hallway and kept out of the gym.
- All Chairs and tables are returned to their respective places under the stage
- Do not try to open or close the windows. They will be operated by the maintenance staff.
- The window shades should be left open and the chains hung on their hooks after they have been opened or closed.
- There is a pole with a hook on the end on the side of the stage that can be used for this. If you close the shades for an event, make sure they are opened before you leave.
- The basketball backstop and net can be raised for using the stage.
- The apparatus for doing this is located in the backstage area. If you need to raise the backstop, you will be shown how to do this.
- After you are done with your event, return the backstop to the original position.
- If you need stage lights or sound for an event, this needs to be arranged prior to the event with the scheduler.
- There may be a charge for providing stage lighting and a sound system.
- Put all balls, mats, and other sports equipment away before you leave the gym.
Elevator and Accessibility
- There is an elevator serving all 3 floors of the building.
- You will need an elevator key to operate the elevator. Do not give the key out for others to use.
- You must accompany all people using the elevator during non school hours.
- You will be trained in all elevator protocols.
- There are accessible entries into the building.
- The east entry on the main floor has an accessible ramp which can be accessed by going around the building from the parking lot.
- There is another accessible ramp located on the south side of the gym.
- There is also a accessible parking space in this area. This ramp goes into the lower level where the elevator can be accessed for use to get to the 1st and 2nd floors.
Locking up and Keys
If you are using the building:
- You must have a set of keys signed out to you before you use the building. The person in charge of the event is the one to get the keys. A designated office person will provide keys.
- These keys must not be given to anyone else and be returned after the event is over
- There may be a deposit required to obtain keys to the building.
Lights and Fans
- All lights must be turned off after the building is locked up.
- You will be trained in how to use the lights.
Clean Up
- The designated point person for the event is responsible for seeing that all areas used for the specific event must be cleaned up after the event.
- If there is a lot of trash in the trash cans in the halls, dump them into the dumpster by the back of the gym, and put clean trash bags into the trash cans.
- Clean trash bags are located under the staff mailboxes in the Main Hall next to the office.
- To protect the floor, the gym should be swept after every event .
- When you sweep the gym floor, pick up the dirt into a dustpan and dump it.
- There are always extra brooms and dust pans in the downstairs bathroom.
- There are dry mops, brooms, and dustpans located in the side of the stage for use in the gym
- There is also a wet mop in the downstairs West bathroom to use to clean up spills. Be careful to not let the gym floor get too wet
- If classrooms are used, they must be put back the way they were found.
-
- All tables and chairs used must be put back after their use.
-
Snow and Ice
- We have contracted with a service to plow the parking lot and shovel walkways as needed in the winter.
- There are always snow shovels and ice melt located at each entry in case the weather gets bad during school or an event.
- You can help out by shoveling the steps by the doors and spreading ice melt until someone can get there to take care of it.
Fire and Tornado Safety Protocols
If there is a fire alarm:
- If you see a fire or smoke, pull the fire alarm immediately and leave the building.
- The alarm will automatically call the fire department when pulled.
- Vacate the building via the closest outside exit where there is not a fire hazard.
- When you vacate the building, stay clear of the parking lot to provide access for emergency vehicles.
If a tornado occurs and the community alert sirens sound:
- Everyone should go into the lower level hallway.
- If the lights go out, there is ample emergency lighting that will automatically go on.
