The Golf Outing is in honor of Miles Kanne and Gene Flander. Miles Kanne was Vice President of Cook Medical from 1964 to 1992 and served on the Harmony School Advisory Board for 30 years and was actively involved in the Harmony Golf Outing until his passing in May 2025. Gene Flander was president of the Harmony School Advisory Board until his passing in September 1987. All proceeds from the event support the Miles Kanne Scholarship Fund for Harmony students, which distributed $41,000 in scholarships to students in 2025 and since 1980 has provided nearly $850,000 in scholarships. Your support is crucial in ensuring that we can continue to provide our legacy of education to children from all income backgrounds.

You are invited to support Harmony School this summer by donating items for this event!
The Golf Outing is an opportunity for the Bloomington business community to support Harmony School. One fun part of the outing is supplying all of the golfers with goodie bags, filled with small items from local businesses (such as coupons, sunglasses, pens, snacks, etc). We also offer prizes for winning teams (gift certificates, etc), and we reach out to local businesses for food donations for the event as well.

The Harmony School Golf Outing started in 1980 in order to expose more business people in Bloomington to Harmony School and to support golf in the community. The Golf Outing is in honor of Miles Kanne and Gene Flander. Miles Kanne was Vice President of Cook Medical from 1964 to 1992 and served on the Harmony School Advisory Board for 30 years and was actively involved in the Harmony Golf Outing until his passing in May 2025. Gene Flander was president of the Harmony School Advisory Board until his passing in September 1987. Gene Flander was president of the Harmony School Advisory Board until he passed away in September 1987. He was a great friend and supporter of Harmony School, and this Tournament is dedicated to his memory.
Miles Kanne was Vice President of Cook Medical from 1964 to 1992. He started the Harmony Golf Tournament in 1980 in order to expose more business people in Bloomington to Harmony School and to support golf in the Bloomington community. Miles served on the Harmony Advisory Board for 30 years and was actively involved in the Harmony Golf Outing until his passing in May 2025.
