CELEBRATING THE LEGACY & SUPPORTING OUR STUDENTS
Miles Kanne served as Vice President of Cook Medical from 1964 to 1992 and was on the Harmony School Advisory Board for 30 years. He was actively involved in the Harmony Golf Outing until his passing in May 2025. Miles’ love for his community was evident in his numerous active memberships and the many spaces where he volunteered his time and expertise. His three decades of service to Harmony is honored each year through this golf outing and the continuation of the Miles Kanne Scholarship Fund. This event pays tribute to a man who gave so generously to so many and who genuinely loved golf and this community.
Gene Flander served as president of the Harmony School Advisory Board until his passing in September 1987. Gene’s guidance during Harmony’s formative years—as the school grew from just a handful of students into an ever-growing community—helped build the foundation for what stands today. Thanks to his early leadership, Harmony is now a 50-year-old democratic school serving a unique and diverse student population from preschool through high school.
All proceeds from this event support the Miles Kanne Scholarship Fund for Harmony students. Since 1980, nearly $850,000 has been awarded to hundreds of students, including $41,000 distributed in 2025 alone. Your support is crucial in ensuring we can continue our legacy of providing quality education to children from all financial backgrounds. Harmony students—past, present, and future—thank you deeply for your contributions.

You are invited to support Harmony School this summer by donating items for this event!
The Golf Outing is an opportunity for the Bloomington business community to support Harmony School. One fun part of the outing is supplying all of the golfers with goodie bags, filled with small items from local businesses (such as coupons, sunglasses, pens, snacks, etc). We also offer prizes for winning teams (gift certificates, etc), and we reach out to local businesses for food donations for the event as well.
