Job Overview
Harmony School is seeking a Summer Camp Director to plan and implement summer day camps for local families. This position is part time (5 hours per week) from Nov. 1, 2024 until May 24, 2025. It becomes full time from May 25, 2025 through the end of August 2025. The role may be combined with a part-time After School Coordinator position (M-F, 2:45 PM – 6:00 PM during the school year), offering a unique opportunity to create and lead programs that benefit local youth. This leadership position requires a dynamic individual with experience in education or camp settings and strong leadership and communication skills.
Duties
- Plan and implement engaging summer camp programs that align with Harmony’s values
- Organize curriculum, coordinate field trips, and oversee daily camp activities.
- Supervise camp staff, provide training, and manage scheduling to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate on outreach, PR, and marketing efforts to promote the camp.
- Ensure camper safety by enforcing camp policies and procedures.
- Manage material purchasing, transportation logistics, and facility maintenance.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages learning and participation.
- Evaluate camp programs through feedback from campers, parents, and staff, making improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working in camps, education, or youth development fields.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and activities.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities to engage with campers, parents, and staff.
- Experience in program planning and staff supervision is essential.
- A passion for educating and facilitating youth development.
- Experience in camp management or similar roles is preferred.
